ALEX GODLEWSKI

PARTNERSHIPS

Alex is a graduate of Ryerson University in Toronto, with a Bachelor in Journalism and minors in English and Public Administration. 


While living in Toronto, Alex volunteered for many events in her spare time, and received a Volunteer Award for Arts and Culture in Toronto (VAACT). From volunteering for events to planning birthday parties for co-workers, Alex decided to pursue her passion through the Event Management Program at Algonquin. In addition to her studies, Alex is the Development Coordinator for a non-profit in Ottawa.


Fun fact: Alex is a dual citizen of Canada and Poland.

 

ALINA KUZMINA

LOGISTICS

Alina was born in Ukraine, graduated university in Poland and now living in Canada. She studied International Tourism in Poland, and have work experience in hospitality and customer service. 


Alina enrolled in Event Management program because this field is fun, interesting and constantly changing, and it takes a special person to be an event planner. With her main strength being a strategic thinker, she fit just right in. 


Fun fact: Alina is fluent in 4 languages, so sometimes forgets which one she has to speak today!

 

HANNAH TILMA-RADVANYI

VOLUNTEERS

Hannah has a varied background, including experience in sound engineering, technical theatre, and being a mom. She graduated Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough for Social Service Work in 2009, and has worked for several years as a sound engineer, doing both permanent sound system installations, as well as live sound and lighting for concerts, plays, and conventions.


Hannah enrolled in the Event Management program due to her love of being behind-the-scenes, her people skills, and paying attention to details.


Fun fact: Hannah plays the harp and is a bit of a gamer.

 

HAYLEY HEASLIP

MARKETING

Hayley is a recent graduate of Nipissing University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a specialization in Marketing. In 2015, she co-founded Alpha Gamma Phi, the first sorority at Nipissing University. She served as President for two years, working with a team of 7 women in planning and executing numerous events for over 40 students.

 

Hayley currently works in communications and event management with the Information and Communications Technology Council, promoting projects focused in cybersecurity, immigration, and ICT.

 

Fun Fact: Hayley is a classically trained singer and has performed musical theatre at Walt Disney World.

 

MIKE CHEN

PROGRAMMING

Mike, a graduate of the Culinary Management program at Algonquin, and he has decided to explore other fields of work through the Event Management program. 

​

As an international student, Mike likes to socialize and make new friends. He enjoys learning about other other people and their cultures.

 

Fun fact: Mike is allergic to alcohol.

 

SHERIL SHAW

Sheril is completing her second diploma program at Algonquin College in the Event Management Graduate Program, but her third all together.

 

She previously worked as a Child and Youth Worker and Early Childhood Educator for 13 years. Although it brought her great fulfillment, she felt it was time to turn one of her well-loved hobbies, event management, into a career.

 

Event planning has become a way of life for Sheril. When others find a task daunting, she is the first out of the door. Sheril plans to one day open an event planning company. Until then, she will continue her love of planning events through Wish Upon A Steampunk.
